Cisco Regional Academy
A regional academy is associated with the training of instructors and the support of all the local academies irrespective of geographical area.  Hence GRA supports educational institutions over a very wide area and this is supported by Cisco due to the high level of support offered to all institutions within the GRA Cisco Consortium.

Schools

GRA has a large geographical area to cover the schools market whether they be 11 - 16 or 11 - 19.  With a primary base office in Essex GRA has extended to work with schools from Necastle upon Tyne and Darlington in the north, to Haverill in the east, Brighton and Fair Oaks in the south and Maesteg in South Wales in the west.  Many of the schools concentrate on courses such as IT Essentials (mapped against CompTIA A+) within KS4 and the CCNA with some adding in WLAN and Security in KS5.  In addition some schools also offer these to the local community and SME (Small-Medium Enterprise) during weekends, and evenings in order to bring in valuable finances into the school.

Colleges

The area covered by colleges and universities is of a smaller geographical spread but this does not mean that it is limiting and could not be expanded.  At the present time the colleges within the GRA consortium extend from Farnborough in the south and west to Lowestoft in the east and Bedford in the north.  The colleges tend to adopt a wider range of courses with a concentration on the CCNA, WLAN and Security with some looking at and delivering IP Telephony.  There is also an option that some are using IT Essentials 1 (A+) and Cisco course to meet the needs of other courses they offer their students and community clients.  Further than this, some have gained training contracts with Hospitals and Councils to meet the needs of their technical staff.
